Hi,
I brought an old Warner Stove with us from New Hampshire to here in New Zealand, and want to install it. The trouble is the local town government building counsel needs some documentation of installation instructions or at least setback measurements. I did see your wiki doc https://www.hearth.com/talk/wiki/warner-stove/ but it doesn't have that info. I've made a few calls to wood stove suppliers in the NE region, but no luck. Any ideas?
Many thanks, and love this blog. Should have discovered it years ago!

Typically these old stoves had a 36" clearance requirement in all directions. This could be reduced to 12" with a proper NFPA wall shield.

Do NZ air quality regulations allow burning in an old stove like this?

Thanks for your reply! Although because of our rural/farm location we're exempt on that requirement, however since you brought it up, I'll assume that this old stove is not as efficient as a newer model, and therefore not as ecological? Might I do well to scrap it and get a more recent model?
Thanks for the setback info..if I were to use the Warner, I'll have to track down a manual in order to install it. Not much on the web- I'm in touch with the Laconia and Merryville Historical Socieitiesand libraries, towns in which the Warner was made, but not holding out much hope.

I don't know what options and rules there are for NZ residents. Perhaps see if they have a trade-in program for the old Warner?
