Question:

is it healthy to have a tea kettle on water on the wood stove? or will it put mold spores in the air?

Answer:

Thousands of people use kettles on their stoves and I have not heard of the mold problem. For some reason, this WAS a problem with the mist humidifiers that did not heat the water...but it seems to be no problem with boiling or steaming water.
