That "sick" thought seemed to last about as long as it took to write the paragraph, I reckon.

I look out the window and see piles of logs waiting to be split- that is my day dream every day while I am at work starring at that stupid brick wall.

That is an very clean saw to be sporting on that pile of cut wood. Like it is new. How many peoples neck's were getting sore from looking at a pic at 45 deg. angle.

    • Saw looks like a virgin, can't have worked on that stack, can it?
•I think the photo is actually taken from above, not from the side as it appears.
If it had been taken from the side as it "appears" that whole woodpile would have fallen as there are some limbs that are shown in gravity defying positions, including the large smooth one that "appears" to be leaning forward...

•Also, probably not a safe way to leave a chainsaw? And since it's (IMO) from above, would that leak bar oil?
    • Maybe a bit long bar for not so big logs.
    • Messy pile of splits, rounds and longer sections.
PS What is that smooth bark section ?-- kinda purdy wood

Pic is from the side. Pile is tall. Saw had not been started at that point. As far as smooth bark goes, I don't think there is any. Pile contains White Oak, Hickory, Cherry and Elm, which I think is what you're referring to. No bark. And yes, the bar is long. Thank you very much.

    Been there mywaynow.

In the past I got sick of splitting sooner when the wood I was getting was absolute trash. This stuff was deadfall that laid on the ground for who knows how long.
Some of it was so bad I burned it outside.

After this season I will be on to much better wood. I am actually anxious to split this stuff because I know it will not fall apart like my old mushy trash wood.

BTW, have fun with the new family member. I keep watching that big brown stork (UPS truck ;)) fly by my house but he hasn't stopped in a while.
