I have a very nice weso tile stove model 020, the smallest one. The exit flue has an ID of 4 3/16". The Chimney is 6" Class A. I need to have an adapter pipe fabricated to connect to black pipe. Should I run 4" black pipe from the adapter to the chimney reducing the flow slightly, or go to 5" and reduce at the chimney, or go right to 6" off the stove adapter? I'd rather stay small for clearance reasons. Thanx.

Sorry, my main concern isn't the adapter but the pipe sizing. How will it affect things if I run 4" up to the 6" chimney as opposed to adapting to 6" right off the stove? I'd like to use 4" for clearances.

It should work ok to use the same outlet size pipe for the connector as long as the run is not extremely long and horizontal sections have an adequate uphill pitch.
