What am I doing wrong when running Napoleon in on/off mode with t-stat?

yeah, the existing OAK, will try that next .
 
If the OAK was the issue I'd expect the same problem to show up using the stove in manual mode.

Correct smokey. He should be able to keep trying restarts(tough on the igniter) to prove it. If it is the OAK setup. The exterior plate holes will need to be enlarged a bit. I don't remember what the Englander OAK setup has for the wall plate.
