all chains are differnt hard to know what file to use, look on the bar and see if the size is stamp on there?

Check the Oregon chain website: http://www.oregonchain.com
Look up your saw in the selector guide.
Files are specified by diameter not gauge. Gauge refers to the thickness of the chain ( the part that rides in the bar).
According to the Oregon site you saw uses ether a .325 or 3/ pitch chain, with ether a .050 or a .058 gauge chain.
You likely have a 325 P , .050 G chain.
If you can figure out what chain you have check the website and it will have the info on haw to sharpen.
It looks like you need a 3/16 dia file to sharpen your chain, but check the website to be sure.

Let me say that I am no expert on chain saw chain, but the Oregon has good instructions on sharpening teeth and filing rakers.
Also there are some good videos on chain sharpening, check you tube and the Stihl website has a good video. http://www.stihlusa.com/
you can also look at http://www.arboristsite.com/
good luck

I sharpened my chain, but I think I'm going to buy one of those longer guides and forego my little square guide with rollers. Too wobbly. Also, I bought and used the Oregon raker guide and file. I think I did it right, though the raker tips are very small and it was difficult to round them off. But I think I did. I'll know later when I go to saw.

Thank you, everyone, for your helpful advice.

Ya, mine is a .325 and it uses a 3/16 file. Get a depth gauge (lays across the chain, and if the raker sticks up past the depth gauge- it needs to be filed). I touch up rakers every 3-5 tanks of gas (touch up teeth every tank).

where can we find a good quality file kit (all inclusive) for a .325 chain? I have found a couple in Ebay but I dont know of their quality.
