what is the differnce of the roof or wall

I will be puting class a through the roof and was wonder about the whole size need for 6inch class a and what would be used to go through would it be somthing like a wall themble
 
Roof or wall, class A needs at least 2" clearance in all directions. 6" class A is about 8" in diameter so it needs a minimum of a 12" hole. Going through the roof, the hole will be oval, at least 12" wide. Length will depend on the pitch of the roof. If at all possible, take it straight up on the inside of the house for the best performance and easiest cleaning.
