What is the mountain in the back of Energy Harvesters wood stove??

I read a bunch of info that was provided in both the threads and the pdf archives on this thread and I know that I had read what the design on the sides of the energy harvesters was but I cannot remember for the life of me.

I wish my harvester was a top and back exhaust model like the one in that add...I probably would have kept it if it did.
