It's 38 outside with a feel like of 30 and the sun is getting ready to set.

Our stove is loving the Fireside Ultras. Did a "twenty minute" cleaning today so that always helps. You have to love higher end heat from a box store pellet. At $4 a bag I will burn thru them and keep the $6 a bag Barefoots for when it really gets cold! I grabbed another ten bags of FSU this morning.

    Stay warm everyone!!!

I am on my 3rd day with my first pellet atove and so far I am LOVING it. I have burnt two bags in three days. I also have the FSU and so far it seems very good. I have very little ash and as I read that is a good thing. I did notice a little soot on the top area of the glass, but i was running some experiments on high and that might be expected (not sure yet). Anyway FSU is cheap and it seems to be a good choice from what I have been reading on this forum..

    Burn on

Lint Eater: brush at the end of flexible rods that you hook up to your power drill so you can remove ash from the inside of your vent.

Bought a couple bags of Ambiance yesterday and put 1 in this morning. So far it seems like a good, strong flame compared to MWP blend. The heat is much better also - the house is a comfortable 70 degrees. Too early for an ash report though. The temp is hovering around freezing here.

Thanks MrJohneel, I gotta get me one of those. I assume that is a once a year thing? Give the pipes a good scrubbing.

Most people do it after every one ton. I haven't hit that mark this year, but my glass was getting dirty even after weekly cleanings so I thought I'd give the vent a clean.

Ummm, Michigan pellets here (hangs head in shame). Still trying to get rid of the leftovers from last years mistake. Saving the Somersets, Pro Pellets and Magic Sparks for really cold weather.
