Chest freezer uses 1.7amp so its about 200 watts.

There is no starting wattage on tag. Does anyone have a guess how large of an inverter I should get to cover the starting watts?

Thanks!

Hard to say without knowing what you have but I would figure in the area of 10-12 amps.

From the old days. Rule of thumb 4 to 5 times operating amps. So 6.8 to 8.5 amps for 0.3 seconds or so.
