All I can see are partially burned sticks falling out with their flaming ends in the ground fuel and starting a forest wildfire. "Fun for the whole family", indeed. !!!
 
Think I'll stick with burning the chunks and uglies in the Fall and Spring . . . and my humble, but very cheap (well free) fire ring made out of rocks found on the property will burn the branches just fine.

Very interesting, I'm always of fan of cooking over wood when camping, but sometimes my propane stove is more convenient than raking coals out of the campfire. I have a Solo stove I've used for backpacking before which runs off twigs and pine cones. It takes more work than a canister or liquid fuel stove, but it also cooks hotter and I don't have to carry fuel with me.
