O K i'm going to guess hard for me with pictures and out of my zone==

White and green ash look about the same so it comes down to habitat and when you pull off the leaf if you see a "C" or a "D" shape around the bud. I'll agree with ash and cherry though. Black birch looks similar to cherry, but I doubt you'd miss the wintergreen smell.

Those are 2 of the easiest trees to ID.
