i realize my definition of storms, precipitation and catastrophies pales compared to the weather many on this forum have.

but we're in the midst of a "blizzard", Thank God. so far we have about seven inches of snow. that's just a "sciff" in the opinion of many on this forum. the last storm of this "magnitude" was over a year ago. since then we've barely ACCUMULATED seven inches of water in any form.

damned glad to see it. i hope it shuts down the entire state. if we drain all the energy from this storm system it would do us all a favor. we would get the water we need and you folks could get some well-needed recuperation.

i'm gonna wait. i plowed the yard about an hour ago. when i was done it was drifting back in.!!! i'm waiting for the opportunity to get the loader stuck. now THAT will be a storm.>>

i guess when they only come every few years you have something to celebrate.

and Dixie, if i'd have thought of it sooner i could have brought my shovel over to your house since i didn't have anything to do:)

just got an inch or two up here in the "County". Went out sea. I am in Portland every 2 days, down there today. You guys have got a lot more "winter" than we do up here in the north.

ditchrider, the wind aka blizzrd part of what you're getting is bad. Can take all kinds of snow, but the high winds are down right dangerous.

I was up to Silverthorn on 2/22-23. More or less bare rock and [dead] trees from Denver on west to up close to the tunnel. Not a lot to squawk about even at the tunnel. You're right BK, if a storm shut down the state, it would do more economic good than a few days of shutting down work and school would cost.

In March of 2003 if I hadn't kept going out to shovel and plow snow every couple of hours we'd have had to climb out of the house from the window. I miss that.
