Greetings wood burning experts,

In evaluating a couple dealer bids for an installation of a Jotul F3 CB, one uses Security Chimney products and the other uses Excel products. The Excel chimney includes a revolving rain cap that claims 40% improved draft during windy conditions.

The bid that includes the Excel chimney is cheaper and also includes the contractor handling the mechanical permit. I am leaning towards this one but am interested in comments and experience from the larger community of experts and installers. Both of the dealer installers under consideration appear to be reputable contractors with long history's in the field.

Thanks again for your comments and consideration

Excel is a first rate product. You should be fine with that choice.

For our F3, Excel and Simpson were my top choices. With availability being the deciding factor, Simpson was it.

How would you rate this manufacturer, Hart & Cooley

Hart & Cooley is owned by Tompkins, the same company that owns American Metals and Selkirk-Metalbestos. Quality should be comparable between them all.
Thank you
