I have a 9 gallon Rigid shop vacuum that I use for my stove. I know, I know, metal ash vac... I normally let the stove sit off for 24 to 48 hours before cleaning and when I'm done let the vac sit outside on the driveway for a few hours. Anyway, I use the upgraded filter and these bags: http://m.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-Hig...-for-RIDGID-6-9-gal-Vacuums-VF3503/202066801/ However, my pre season cleaning I noticed that a trace amount of 'black' made it through, not much, but I had to clean the floor in that area, it wasn't much, but enough to show up on a white sock. Which bags do you guys use? Thanks

I'm not sure of the name but get mine at lowes the list several uses including drywall dust and ashes very easy to find in the shop vac isle

I put a dampish old terry cloth towel dedicated to rag usage that I lay over the exhaust port on my Shopvac, to catch any residual fly ash that makes it through the HEPPA and drywall dust rated filter bag.

I put a hose in the exhaust port and put it out the window.

I thought about doing the same. I have also realized that on my rigid vac, there is no seal between the top where the mirror is etc and the container itself, just a plastic lip. I think I'll add a seal or just tape it up

Yup been doing this for years. I just use the dirty bath towel from the week.

Drywall bag if your near a window hook up another hose and put it out the window. Make sure the bag is attached good I had a bag that was poorly attached it blew crap out for several months before I cleaned the stove on a sunny day and saw the crap coming out the exhaust.
