I've used four different Fiskars splitting axes:

Fiskare Pro Splitting Axe (28")
Fiskars Super Splitting Axe (28")
Fiskars X25 Splitting Axe (28")
Fiskars X27 Splitting Axe (36")

I'm 6'0" and I prefer the 36" long handle.

Regency, I'm moving this thread over into The Gear forum, where such topics are discussed at length. Rick

Hi - I think it depends on your size and how you split.

I just got the 28" X25 and I split the wood on a round about 18" high. Handle size is perfect for me (I'm 5' 10")

I think if I was cutting on the ground I would prefer the 36" X27.

I have the 28" SS - got it last year before the new 36" came out.....I like it , but if I had the choice now - I would get the longer handle for sure.

I have the X 27. I am 6'2" and use a 18" block and it is just right. Great addition to the collection.

Get the long one. Length=speed=splitting power.

I have used both handle lengths and think the X27 is the way to go.
