South Shore wood Pellets
Holbrook, MA 02343

They carry Okies (aka Okanagan) and Barefoots. Okies are softwood and Barefoots are hardwood. Both are top of the line super premium wood pellets. Can't go wrong with either.

south shore has the okanagan for 289.00 per ton or barefoot for 264.00 both more money than the the brands I posted but If you guy think those brands are worth the extra $ then I will most likely buy the barefoot.

Doesn't matter what we think its what you think. Its your dollar. We can only help guide you.

Like imacman and mnkywrnch said. My vote is for Spruce Pointes for that price. Vermonts will surprise you. If you would spend $262 for the liggies, I would add the couple of extra for the Barefoots.

Squire Lumber had Okies for $239. If there close enough?

NEWP---NEVER AGAIN

They really struck a nerve with you didn't they. We have many customers thinking the same as you Werm. It seems I lost 20% of my customers due to bad NEWP last year. Now I get to load up and give out free bags of Cubex in the cold snap to win them back this winter.

From what I read on here I would go with Spruce Pointes. Is that delivered or picked up price?

Spruce Pointe is amazing.... arguably one of the best you can buy.

If you go the South Shore pellet route, think about spliting your purchase...half Okanagan...half Barefoot. Best of both worlds (premium softwood and premium hardwood).

I know a lot of people don't want to spend extra $ on wood pellets, but I'm a big believer in the old saying "you get what you pay for". The first year I had the stove, I purchased my pellets from the big box stores. Never...ever...ever..again. Junk. Low heat, ridiculous amounts of ash, and clinkers the size of half dollars. Maybe that's changed in the last five years, but I'm not taking any chances. I only buy 1 ton per year, so I don't mind spending an extra $30-$50 for a ton of high-end pellets. I try to offset the cost difference by picking up the pellets vs. having them delivered. Put 25 bags in the minivan...make two trips...and I'm set for the winter. As everyone else pointed out, it really comes down to personel choice. I will say this, try before you buy. No matter what route you go, it's always a good idea to burn a bag or two before committing to a ton or more. Seems like every year we read more and more horror stories about folks getting stuck with bags and bags of inferior pellets because they got lured into the price game. Try before you buy.
