I have a small firebox (1.8 cu ft) so a true overnight burn is not really an option. I do notice that in the morning there is a white film in the middle of the glass. Is this due to cooler temps as the fire burns down? How do I prevent it?

Is it just ash that you can wipe off? How hard in general is it to remove?

If it is ash then there isn't likely much you can do - sometimes you get some on the glass and as long as it is easy to wipe off. If it is something else I don't know what it may be, generally any incomplete combustion products are dark colored on the glass...

No, it is hot temps at the peek of the burn.
