Greetings,
My 6 year old son ask me why we call the wood stove a stove and not an oven. He went on, We cook on top of the stove and cook in the oven ....I didn't have an answer......any suggestions?
Mike

Seems self explanatory. You can cook on top of a wood stove. It would be hard to use it as an oven with a raging fire in the firebox. (Yes, I know it can be done once the stove cools down to coaling stage.)

cuz ya burn wood in it :)

and you tell that fine young man if he wants to call it a wood oven that's fine by me :):):)

wood BURNING stove?

wood furnace might be a better choice of words eh???

wood heater???

hmmmm, that 6 year old has me thinkin' now...............
