That is like those old bench vices they had in high school wood shop class.

I've never used one of that style, but it looks like a wood clamp, not so much a bench style wood vise. But hey, it has a purpose so......

The two vises I paid a total of $50.00 for, I bought them from my neighbor and just want to make sure that I did not short him was that enough for the wilton and columbian?

As long as he was smiling when you left, no problems. They're not NIB condition, so your effort to clean 'em up is worth something. You did fine.

I hope so Beetle-Kill he has been very good to us. I almost ordered that wilton.

Zap. you did fine. Put the $ you saved towards something else. I will say, the one you reserved was a bomber vise, but probably overkill. I'll bet that sucker weighed 30lbs.

It's impossible to have vise overkill. There is nothing more frustrating than a vise that is too small. What would you call my Emmert turtleback that weighs about 95lbs and rotates?
