    I'm gonna take a stab at it and say gray birch but that is just a guess. I refuse to eat anything ifn' I'm wrong!!!!!!!!!

    Definitely west coast...nothing even close to that in the east...does it smell like pine at all?

    I have no idea but that's some pretty cool looking wood there-is the grain Red inside?

    It is probably my eyes/screen and no bad intent to anyone who has been burnt out of thier home due to the Santa Ana Winds, but that looks like its been in a fire.
    hence firewood.

    Thanx for the replies so far

    It doesn't seem to smell like pine
    It fell from a combo of termites and the Santa Ana winds
    We're guessing Ash?
