Pardon my assistant, Cooper. He just wanted to be sure that the split was safe - and he agrees with me that it smells great. We've gotten random splits of this wood before and I always find it so appealing - the color of the wood and the texture of the bark and the way that it smells - what is it?

Cherry . But watch out for what your " pup" chews. One of my Labs loves doing that , got an abscess in her throat ,we almost lost her. Some how a splinter got under her tongue . There were no signs of distress until suddenly she couldn't eat or drink .
