First year burner so still trying to get to know all of my woods. Splits easy, little on the stringy side.

Appears to be maple. What species, I'm not sure.
 
I'd guess norway x2
 
I say Norway maple

No chance that's yellow poplar! I say maple, Norway, because of the smoother bark on some of the background pieces.

Norway Maple. I bet you got it in town, not out in the woods, right?
 
It was actually on the edge of a big woods on our field, blew down. lots of oak and cherry around it
 
For some reason I am seeing Sassafrass.....
