I had this put aside for me at work but I'm thinking of leaving for someone else to take because I'm out of room untill I start burning again, unless its something really special ;-)

Any ideas? I know the pictures are not great, maybe I shoud try to get a better shot?

Thanks all.

Honey Locust

Nothing else but Honey Locust has thorns quite like that, not even Hawthorns, those are much smaller trees & not as plentiful nation-wide.

I'd grab all the HL I could if I was you.

Thanks, I was thinking honey locust also but I didn't think we had any in this area, especially one that big. It's about 2 feet across.

The super close-up on the bark had me confused until I noticed the thorns are attached to the trunk. Nothing else this side of the Serengeti looks like that. Honey Locust for sure, and supposed to be a great firewood.

How far are you from Brick. I'll give it a good home if you don't have the room.

If you are not far from exit 8 on the NJ turnpike and the other guy doesn't take it I'll let you know.
