Looks like maple to me
although, we only have norway and swamp maple here and it's not yellow inside like that
 
That is not maple, I think. I believe it is probably Mulberry, the ridged bark and yellow wood make me think Mulberry. Good firewood.
 
Mulberry! My most favorite wood-splits easy, dries quick and good BTU. Nice score!
