Minister of Fire
My sincere aplogies if this has been covered previously.

I am looking to do a tad bit of experimenting as my
hardwood block supply for this year is dwindling and
I am asking if any of you have been using the pellet
baskets in your boilers with natural draft?

I have the firebox half full of brick to the flue exit
and a piece of 12 by 12 channel iron covering that
half of the coal grates and I would like to try using a
pellet basket for part of the season anyway.
I would be able to burn a lot of my bark that will be run through
my WW garden shredder too.

One manufacturer of the baskets has a
12 by 12 basket for $49 tax and shipping cost
and I would be able use that one-I may have to remove one
row of fire bricks to allow it to fit but thats not an issue for me.

I wanted to try it anyway to see how well it works as I
will be at a loss to buy cut to length logs until next summer.

I cetainly hope to burn more coal with the colder weather they have
predicting anyway.
