A Shaw's supermarket in Waltham,Ma. is selling bundles of firewood labeled hardwood.Only thing it's pine.What a rip.

I'd call them on it. Make them change their sign, at lease.
Up here, a firewood seller was caught selling poplar as "hardwood". He didn't stay in business long.
Happy burning.

Maplewood, the problem with that is that poplar is actually a hardwood! We tend to speak of it as softwood and it is compared to oak or maple or many others. If it drops its leaves, it is a hardwood. Now pine....that's definitely softwood.

don't worry about it. some family will sue them for millions when their chimney catches fire from burning all that pine.... :p
