Wrap handles: What are they designed to do?

Felling I would say. I've considered retrofitting my saw but seem to be just fine without it. I'm not running a saw 8 hours a day though.

Full wrap handles are optional on most brands of larger saws,very popular on the West Coast & PNW.Gives you more control in different positions
& easier when working large trees on hillsides,steep slopes etc.It just feels more comfortable to me,adds less than 1/2 pound weight.I sold the standard flush mount handle on my saw & replaced it with an excellent used full wrap one,about 1/3rd less money than new OEM one.

Yes it is a faller thing. It gives a faller options when cutting. I have a 440 STIHL with full wrap handle. I like it because I get tired in the tree and I can switch hands. Sometimes it gets in the way.
