Yahoo is giving away a bunch of Hybrid taxis (Prius) to the Greenest City

This is definitely the "carrot" approach, helped along by business. In the future, I think the cities that work more and more toward energy efficiency will the the true winners.

The Prius seems to make a decent taxi. There have been some high miles run up on them and the cabbies report lower than average repair bills.

Seems like a better approach might be to go to the EPA records and give the city with the worst air a fleet of hybrids.

LA, CA or Houston, TX could probably benefit more than Hippieswithcomputers, VT.
