Well, I appear to resolved the issue. The gasket under the fines box cover has distorted over the years & on the right side there are depressions allowing an air leak. I ordered a replacement gasket thru my hearth shop, but in the meantime a little RTV silicone bead in that area has it sealed for now. It's running as good as ever. Thanks for the input, tho.
