Who else is throwing in the towel early and closing up their pellet burner for the season?

My Fahrenheit furnace is being shut down tomorrow. Going to take the leaf blower to the 4" Selkirk PL vent after running the soot eater through it and do a total clean out. All the local forecasters are saying that this heat is going to last into April. Climate forecasts from the Climate Prediction Center of the National Weather Service are saying the same thing...just check the maps...

Will keep it on standby probably through April. Yeah the weather is great now but I still expect to see a cold snap, this can't keep up.

I have already cut the grass. This has to be at least 3 weeks earlier than normal!
 
We are about 2 months early... so i'm expecting a big cold snap up here ..
 
We have gotten snow in late April... I won't mothball the stove until May at least. I'm running it at night to take the chill off.

I just started cleaning my P-43 today and will finsish with my Accentra later this week. I also just cut my grass for the first time this season.
 
Of course, down here in Georgia with temps in the 80's, I'm done. Just have to spring clean them. Heck, it's so stupid warm, I opened up the swimming hole yesterday! And I had my first fire in my cookstove! WHAT???
 
Not yet, got to get through April before I button it up for the season.

I did hoist the deck chairs unto the deck and had a cold one in shirt sleeves outdoors.
 
I wouldn't say I'm throwing in the towel. The stove is setting ready, if & when I need it. I thing for sure, I haven't had the stove lite since friday, a week ago. I haven't ran the homes propane furnace either. The home has been heating up thru the day & only cooling to around 65 degrees by day break next morning.
 
I buttoned up the Fahrenheit furnace this morning. Temperature was 71°F by 11am. Ran the soot eater through the PL Vent, then hooked up the leaf blower and let it run while I used the air compressor on the inside of the burn chamber to get every bit of soot out of there. The PL vent wasn't terribly dirty, most of the ash that came out of the leaf blower was gray/white. Coated the heat exchanger and other metal parts inside the burn chamber with Pam cooking spray (this was recommended by the manufacturer). Taped up the PL vent and OAK intake with foil tape to keep the moist air out of the furnace.

Have about 1 ton of pellets to take with me to next burn season. No end to the above-average warmth in sight, though it looks like we're back in the 60s for the weekend...
 
Still burnin one stove at night,with temps in the low 40's.Stove is off, windows open during the day. It's still a chilly Atlantic Ocean out there when the wind switches eastward. It was a beautiful weekend here, got out the power washer and cleaned the siding,got the garden ready for planting. Hope the rest of this spring continues at this warm pace,but local streams and vernal pools are lower than the norm.
 
been shut down last 2 weeks, have not cleaned it for the season yet
would like a couple of cold days to burn the last bit of pellets in the hopper
 
Very warm here in Maine last week and this past weekend for sure, this week looks warm too. Might fire her up one or two more times between now and April 1st, but it's just about done. Got 6.1 tons on hand for next year and the year after. ****DEATH TO OPEC****
 
Not totally cleaned.

Hoping for another couple cold nights to empty out whats in the hopper.

Not yet, I wait until April 15th to shut down the stove for the season. It hasn't run for 2 days but it is ready to go when the temps drop.
 
I might've waited longer to close down my pellet burning operations if not for a planned trip to FL for much of April. Not much in the way of freezing temps in the forecast for the foreseeable future, through early April, so it's a risk I was willing to take. If the house becomes too chilly, I can always run the regular furnace (LP, 100k BTU) for a short period of time to bring the temperature up inside the house.
 
I have not started burning yet almost finished with the installationl but here in MD Sunday is suppose to be a high of 50 degrees sure wish i was hooked up cause i would fire the stove up thats for sure.

This is the start of the 2nd week we have been shut down. I cant believe these temps. With the windows open and box fans in them (all ceiling fans on too) it was only 70° inside the house at 5:00 a.m. this morning..... Crazy ;)

Not complaing. Just have a lot of wood I wanted to burn thats already in the basement. Dont want to store it down there over the Summer. Got some remodeling/cleaning/finishing to do.... (supposed to do it this Winter, but we didnt have one) I never even got my Snowblower out of my Barn out back.... Never even started it...... Crazy????
 
Haven't shut down for the season, I don't think. Stove looks lonely, been off for a whole week!!! I still have a little over a ton of pellets left, thought I would be right on for the year >> Oh well less to buy for next year ;lol

Yep! Sure is crazy. Guess the global warming stuff is true?
 
I'm hearing rumors of a nor'easter coming up the east coast next week. I did hear on the news tonight lows in the 20's next week.
