Here are the 2 blemishes. The one before this one (ebay auction) had a weld blemish.

This unit had a slightly crooked handle and grinder damage on the front left corner. From a couple feet away. You would never know. The door handle doesn't bother me, because it looks like it was designed on an angle.

Here is a shot of the handle. A shot from afar of top (look at left front corner) and shot up close of left top corner. blemish1.jpg blemish2.jpg blemish3.jpg

Very nice...Great deal Kenis, Congrats once again. Agree with Smoke (I think). Certainly don't see any blemishes.

Thanks. Hoping next Winter we can get together and have a few cold ones and compare the units. See what they have in common? And what different. Which is better at what?

Dont have to wait that long for the cold ones... I prefer the Rockies if your Buying? But during the Winter. It Great Lakes Brewing Co. Christmas Ale ;)

Beacuse I never owned a CPM. It looks like it should be that way. So I am not ordering anything. Its a brand new unit. No need to.

....The bottom 3 on these newer units affects ALL heat levels? Yes

Does the fake firebrick reveal a cleaning area? Or is it just for show? Show, AFAIK....ask Mike

And finally, what type of paint did imacman use for the medallion on the door? Stove Bright Gold

Also either the burn pot or the receptacle it sits in is warped? I can rock the pot back and forth a decent amount? Which leads to another question? It looks like I can add some "Flat" or "Tape" gasket around the top of the receptacle? Has anyone done this to a CPM? I did it to my Fahrenheit and got great results... Yes...I've added some gasket (same as Comb. Blower gasket) ....flame is more lively now. Might want to ask Mike about this too

Well... The pot does seem to be "bent"...

Stil waiting on reply from Mike Holton. But it is bent.....

Also, I watched there DVD tonight, and I was impressed... Was almost an hour long and covered everything.

If it was not welded in so many spots (good thing), I would try and fix it myself? But its got several welds within close proximity and and the stainless is bent.pot2.jpg

Dexter, I can tell you that my pot does NOT look like that....it's not right. IMO, it should be replaced.

+1 Mine neither

Well

You know what they say: "Good enough for Government Work!"

I dont think this is there standard of work... With that many units. There is bound to be something that gets past QC.

Chit happens

Yes, just like I had to grind down the Top Auger knit line from their casting in the 25-PDV! Then the auger turned freely and will not wear out auger motors every couple years!

However I am sure there is a very logical explanation for this. Like the Robot Welder had a hiccup in the program from a static discharge and the Burn Pot QC inspector was out on vacation or using up his sick days!

Smokey, I agree.

Sent Mike a PM. Hate to be a PITA already. But this is not right. IMO

And you know you'll be properly taken care of. ;)

Pretty confident that they will. I have yet to see a case, where they didn't help someone.

Imacman and Jrsdws (any other CPM owners too), have you installed any washers inside the door handle? Looks like I can take the bolt out and slide 2 washers on each side of the handle to "tighten" it up. Has some side to side slop in it.

Also, is the gasket on the hopper gonna wear down? Or will it be stiff to close all the time? The piece that runs along the back lip of the hopper lid, makes for a tight close. I know its sealing well because of that. Just nit pickin I guess. ;)

I definitely see me filling this stove more. My Quads Hopper (80 lbs) and the Fahrenheits hopper (112 lbs) have me spoiled. Even my old Stoves hopper seems much larger.

There are advantages as well as disadvantages to this unit. Still gonna do the Burn tonight. More pics to come. Overall. Still happy with my decision. As little BTU's as it takes to heat and keep the house warm. I doubt this unit should have a problem. The biggest thing is gomna be keeping it Full.

No, haven't had to install any washers on door handle, but might be something I'll try in the future.

Hopper gasket will soften up a little over time, but you could try loosening the latches a little.

As far as the hopper goes, it's capacity was fully stated before you bought it.....I used to have an Astoria and miss that huge hopper too, but it is what it is.

Even with the bent handle, corner blemish and burn pot, you got a steal on the stove, Dexter. Those pictures have me drooling for one.

Good luck getting it sorted out and installed.

Hi Kenis

check the control board pot stirer wires when you have a chance too?

Snip ....

Folks what follows is something to stir the pot and should not be tried at home.

Well you could see if your code inspector will let you attach a 20 yard hopper to it. That should last a season or two. I'd expect the folks at England would not approve however.

I knew I was getting a smaller hopper when I bought it. But it wont hurt me to fill it twice a day ;)

Also, there is a hopper extension out for the PDVC (or at least people have made them). The CPM does not have one. Although it has a hopper safety switch, my Fahrenheit does also and there is extension out for it. So it has to be possible to make one.

Making it appear to have a "Step Top" may imorove the looks of this sexy stove already. !! As for the 20 yard hopper.... You know me Smokey, the Bigger the "Hoppa" the better.. I think Krooser had a Girl with a Big Hoppa! LOL

Be VERY careful adding anything like that to your new unit.....warranty will be void instantly.
