Good for you zap. You are getting a bit cooler than we are. We are forecast for our first 30's Tuesday night.

That's a wonder to see. We just might get a small fire going one morning this week. Be well

A front was supposed to go through today, hell it's still 73 degrees here! So, until it cools off, I'll have to wait. We'll see what tonight brings us. If you ask me, it ain't looking too cool in the forecast. I'm almost pi$$ed off that I insulated this house as good as I did....I'd have had several fires by now!!

61 here now, freeze warning tommorow morning from 1 AM to 8AM for entire state all except 1 county in extreme SW. Expect temps 32 possibly 2-3 degrees less in certain low lying and/or rural areas.Temps mid 60's tommorow, mid 70's Monday through Thursday, low's 42 to 55.I'll bring in most of the smaller plants, not much actually in ground still.Catnip, spearmint, garlic, new lettuce will take it down to near 24 before any damage.

It's about 59 tonight, still waiting for the cold front to come through.Looks like tomorrow will be a gutter cleaning day, clean the pellet stove pipe, get upon the roof to clean the half moon shaped window then take a ride in the rhino.

Maybe push some shoulder season wood in.

Looks good Scotty, we will fire up the Liberty tonight, damp out with the temps dropping in the mid 30's.

yeah, I expect more-or-less the same temps tonight. Probably down in the upper 30's. I sweated my a$$ off last night, even with the windows open! That front never came through til really late, only got down to the upper 40's. Dammit I'm ready for snow!!

I'll take the cooler weather but the snow can hold off for a while, next weekend I would like to grab some nice ironwood then open up some trails that are closed off from fallen trees.

I still need to move (restack) some wood in next years section, three year old sugar maple and beech.

I fired up this afternoon with some vintage 6 year old beech. In the low 50's/windy today so just some starter wood and one log to take the chill/dampness off. This is about the same time the first fire is lit every year.

On the way out of the woods we stopped at our neighbors to see his new vehicle, a dark cloud came then it started spitting snow for about 30 seconds, nice car.

I've never seen snow here in Sept. But sure have the 1st-2nd week of Oct.

Zap, they have sleet forecast for about 3/4 of MI. Then they say little or no snow expected. Time will tell on that one.

Maybe it is time to get some gutter covers?

They were pretty good, we only had two that were plugged at the downspout. Cleaning the pellet stove on the inside took the longest of all the things we did today, the only other thing I'll do before I declare us ready for winter is the door gasket on the Liberty, looks like the middle of the week for that.

Just touched off the Liberty with the Cherry, the first pic is just after it started going pretty good, the next two pics the stovetop temp is 450.

We have plenty of Cherry so if Mother Nature puts it on the ground or makes it lean we take it. We have a nice size Cherry up top that is leaning that I want before we get to much snow.

Looks like it might be another warm winter in the east, what are they calling for in your area?
