Northern MI - in the mitten
Been working on this for several days. Went out today and cut down a couple more Poplar, or Big Tooth Aspen, or whatever they are, for sleepers first.
Already had some down and part of the Maple stacked. Stacked what's been in the trailer for 2 days, then picked up the rest of the rounds.
Anyway, 1/3 cord of White Oak, and almost 1/3 cord of soft Maple stacked....by the time this tree is done, there will be over 1/3 cord of Maple. 1005121743.jpg1005121746.jpg
By-product is what's left of the Poplar will be another little bit for next fall.
I really don't know how some of you guys get so much done out in the woods.
Just call me pokey. 1005121744.jpg

Nice pics. You've got a good amount of wood happening there. Looks like the leaves are nearing there peak. This is a great time of year to be a wood worker! Be well

Yeah, It's a great time of year to be outside working with the wood. I'm actually thinking of getting my grapple load this fall, I usually get it in the early spring. I think i will work the wood to get a 2 yr jump on things and leave the spring for scrounges this time.

Nice stacks you have.

Man you got allot done. You are a machine.
You are talking about from a standing tree to perfect stacked splits! & it's not right next to the wood pile.
That's weeks work & a few bottles of ibuprofen for me.

Great pictures Dave.
Sounds like you are having fun. Fall colors makes being in the wood even that much more enjoyable.
Don't rush it along to fast.

Now quit staring at that mile long perfect stack & get moving. You're burning daylight. LOL :)

Must be something about that name "Dave"......BogyDave, PapaDave,.......both have awesome stacks of wood, both work their azzes off and act like nothing gets done. Ha! Looks to me like the woods ought to be scared when you guys fire your saws up!

Great looking wood fences you got there, Dave. I wish I had more property, I'd line mine up in long rows like that. Thanks for sharing some pics. I'll have some more pics for you (of the living room project) this afternoon. I'll be finishing up the insulation today. This morning I'll be finishing up the audio-video cables and wires that are run in the ceiling (surround sound and HDMI cables for two different locations).

I'm using batting, NY. With a baffle and airspace between the roofing and the insulation, and a plastic vapor barrier between the insulation and the tongue and groove ceiling.

Trying to control the wildlife population around here would be like me trying to circumnavigate the moon in my skivvies. I have no idea why I would be trying to do that, but you get the idea.....I hope.
The deer, snake, bunny, mouse, chipmunk, raccoon, possum, etc., poop is good for the grass.

I think I'll go over to my SILs' houses and split some of their Pine kindling a bit smaller with my new Fireside Friend and bust up some SuperCedars to give them. Talk about getting nothing done....

What about the elk Dave?

No sign of Elk here Dennis, but plenty just a few miles north. Also, our oldest daughter and her hubby bought a place about 4-5 miles west of us on M-32, and last time I was out there, there was elk poo, and tracks all over the place.
I should also have mentioned bear. How careless of me.:p
