I recently purchased the 37 ton splitter from Northern tool and it splits very well. My question is if anyone has a good idea on what to do with the outrigger leg in back and the pins to lock it vertical or horizonta? It seems to be a pain in the butt to get the rear leg down. The pins are undersized and are not mounted and spring loaded. If I can somehow fix thes two issues I will love this thing.

Lanyard the pins. Or weld one of these to it.
Skip the drop leg for horizontal splitting and add weight under the tongue to keep it from tipping with good size rounds on it. Don't need to go crazy, just need enough weight to hold the tongue down with the ram extended and the biggest round you'd be comfortable lifting on the bed. Remember, you'll be going vert for the biggun's anyways. The closer the weight is to the hitch coupler, the more effective it will be. The weights themselves could be as simple as square u-bolts clamping strips of steel under the tongue. 40-50lbs ought to make a huge difference.
