Agreed. And if the darn things had legs, I would be getting all twitchy right about now. (and uses a 6" flue to boot).
I'd give it a go with a 6" pipe if I was using it on one of my taller chimneys.

Hey the changed the size from when I looked at it the other day, it went from 4.2 to now its over 4.4 cuft.

It calls for a 6" - so shouldn't be a problem with typical (suggested) flue lengths.

Looks like they miss-typed the size originally. It was listed as 4.2 and now it is 4.42.

One spot says 8" another says 6". Yeah, I have no idea which is right, but I would try running it with a 6" either way.

Yeah - I was looking at the tech specs and it stated 6". Ain't no way I am pulling my 6" down to goto an 8".

The one burning/pictured sure *looks* to be 8". If it performs well with a 6" flue they should sell bunches.

Yes. I am pretty sure 8" will be the final spec once they have a proof reader comb through that site.

Yes the specs call for 6" flue it could be double wall stove pipe in the pic perhaps? I agree 6" would help sell more stoves as the majority are 6" and I for one wouldn't want to replace my 6" liner..

Just called a Regency dealer and he isn't too excited about the stove. He confirmed that it is an 8 inch collar. He has no idea who will buy such a large stove. He isn't a fan of cat stoves due to the fact that every one of his customers that have ever bought a cat stove from him has never replaced the combustor.

He's going to call me back to get me pricing for the stove. I'll share when I hear more. But, he sells the F3100, with fan, for $2,200.

I just contacted a local Regency dealer. He didn't even have pricing yet so he's sourceing information. new thread forthcoming.
Funny. I just did the same thing.

Funny how a BK vs WS thread turns into a good thread about a totally different brand. How does Regency price their stoves? Pretty high typically?

The one I was at the other day had never heard of it. Of course, he also had a Magic Heat on the stove he was burning in the showroom.

$2,200 for the F3100, which is a 2.9 cu ft stove with blower.

That's not high. Kind of middle-of-the-road.

LOL, Boy now there is a dealer I would feel comfortable taking advice from

Yeah, I called another Regency dealer that insisted that the larger the stove, the lower the efficiency, and equated it to going from a 2cu ft stove to a 4 cu ft stove is like going from a 4 cylinder car to a v12 in terms of gas mileage.

That is just about the dumbest analogy I have heard!

Dealer comments like that just make me happier that I spent so much time here. If I ever need another stove, I know more than enough to make an educated purchase. Relying on the dealer to point you in the right direction seems to be an unwise move the majority of the time.
