Hi, I have a 25 ton Speeco gas splitter with a 9hp engine on it. I want to convert it to electric. Most of my splitting is done in my garage, and I even with fans the fumes get to you. My question is, can the Haldex 1002211 pump that is vertically mounted below the engine be horizontally mounted to mate to the electric motor?

Try a electric motor shop
Will need about 4 - 5 H P continuous duty electric motor to replace the 9 hp engine.
They can match up RPM & HP, couplers, mounting frame, wiring size, motor starter, etc.
Another idea is use metal flex pipe to get the exhaust out a vent pipe.
Elect would be quieter though.

I have a 5 hp on that I put on a chipper last year for the same conversion... it had a 10 hp gas and I have noticed no loss in power. In fact I can start the motor with the clutch engaged and it will start the heavy flywheel spinning with no belt slippage. With the old gas motor the belt would slip until it got up to speed, shortening belt life. The splitter will be direct drive. I am just wondering if the pump can be mounted vert or horiz. I will call Haldex tomorrow, they are in my town.
