Got a nice C/L score this morning

25 rounds of straight Doug Fir avg 22"-25" Dia x 14" to 16" long perfect for my little insert, parked right next to it and loaded it up

This will get me to the 4 years ahead mark with the other wood i have gotten off C/L
Neighbors think I am nuts, and look at me funny when ever I bring another load home
but i have it all neat and squared away in the back, so there is not much they can say

Now if it would get cold so I could start burning my seasoned wood I would be happy

I got a "Tommy" lift on the back, makes it real easy. Especially if I can park close to the wood
Those rounds were kinda on the smaller side compared to what I usually get

here is a pic of some 30"+ rounds that I loaded up with the lift a few years ago

Yeah, 3/4 cord is what I was thinking as well, I would of strapped more on top but i took all that was their

FYI, that is a 9' x 6' x 26"( to top of rails) flatbed

I hope so, I think the weather guessers are calling for a warmer and wetter than normal winter for my area this season

love the old toyota! esp stake bed. WEre those old Toy dullies really oneton or just upgraded springs. I mean you use to see them on campers Uhauls, not many stake beds i remember? But i have always been curious, did they actually have heavier frames and brakes and such?

BASOD, your "old blue" is actually a K10. A "c10" is a 2wd old chevy the "k" denoted 4x4. If yours says C then its either a new cab or body panels that were put on or someone put wrong badges on it or did a convert to 4x4?

I'm aware of the difference between the C/K.
I don't know the history but it is a C series cab\vin. If someone chose it as a donor they picked a swiss cheesed one. The bed has zero rust so I assume it came from somewhere else.
It has the Dana 44 front so i assume the frame is pre 80

From front bumper to end of cab they are the same as any 1984-1988 Toyota truck but have a heavier duty 6 lug axle ( on most models after 87), from the cab back had a heavier frame, bigger brakes/ upgraded springs, upgraded axle and the dual wheel set up, now whether they are a true 1 ton or not is debatable, I have heard others say they are a "metric ton" (3/4 ton US standards) but I am not sure on that. I do know i have had over a ton on mine + the weight of my lift gate and have not snapped anything yet. I know not the smartest thing to do


They were sold as a cab/chassis at the dealers and the motorhome manufacturers bought them and put their homes on the back, Uhaul also bought them and made the small moving trucks out of them. most of the Uhauls i see are from the 1989 -1993 era of trucks, they had the V6 in them ( that turns out nobody likes) VS the 22re 4 cylinder in the 84-88 years

Some of the cab/chassis got purchased by private parties or other companies and they put the flatbeds on them not Toyota
If you ever find yourself buying a Toyota dually make sure it has the updated full floating rear axle in years prior to 86,and the six lug axle up front here is a little info on that

good info!! I figured it was a chasis thing and folks put what they wanted on it. I know the older 22re "4" is the one you want. I have been around friends that have run Toys since the late 90s as mud trucks and jacked up trucks just never that close or personally had one. I would love an 80s TOY on 33's but just not enough $$ to get one. I may settle one day for a ealy 90s one but time will tell. I know the 4 is slow but geared right it will pull all day long and get there!
