Bottom line if its called popple, it probably sucks as firewood ;lol

It all burns. Dry wood is good wood. Aspens, all of the Aspen family like the OP a weed tree around here, fast growing, fast falling, fast burning. I wouldn't go out of my way to cut any Aspen, however there is some in my stacks, when it falls and is in someone's way, you cut and it's heat in the bank. Other than that, I'd leave it alone.

Popple's easier up here.......no one knows what any of those other ones are.;)

Apparently, no one knows what "popple" is supposed to mean either. Any of various species of Populus, or maybe tuliptree, if you're in the mood.

Not a very helpful response when someone asks for an ID.

Apparently, you're the popple copper.;)
To answer the question of whether it's worth getting or not, if it's birch...yes. If it's "popple", I don't go out of my way for it, but do burn it.
When my responses are totally inappropriate, I'm sure a mod will address it.

the term popple is not used for the Tulip (aka Yellow Poplar), it should only refer to the Aspen species (quaking and Big tooth).
