I'm glad to hear that you and the family is ok. No damage to the house is a good thing. It has been a complete nightmare with sandy. It looks like you will have quite a bit of pine to last you a few years. Be safe

Trees started coming down around us. We actually retreated to the basement. First time I ever retreated to the basement for a storm. Nothing hit the house, but they were all around us. Some of the trees are Rockerfeller Center size Christmas trees. Roots ball and all torn right out of the ground.

Sounds & looks like you went thru hell for several hours.

No damage to family & house. Gotta feel a lucky.
Scary picture. Looks like some wires still tangled in the trees.

Glad power back & you can start to recover.
Hope you are able to relax a bit.
Good luck

Glad to hear that you and the family weathered the storm. Good Luck on the clean up as it looks like there quite a bit to do.

hope they get the power back for everyone and also get the gas shortage straightened out
The gas shortage in the boroughs seems pretty bad. I'm hearing this from my cousin in Queens. They haven't been able to get gas for 48hrs.
Being on an island has its drawbacks.

Glad to hear you are OK. Hope things get back to normal soon.

gzecc, glad you finally got power. That must have been a difficult week for you. Now comes the cleanup and your yard will never look the same again.

gzecc, I hope you will get some benefit out of this in the end. When you get time, cut that pine all up, stack it and let it dry out good outside. At least a year. It can give you a lot of good BTUs. I wish you the best and hope the coming storm of snow and wind misses you folks. Or at least goes easy on you. Take breaks while working. Don't work too hard. It will still be there tomorrow and will get done sooner or later. Either way, it will get done. Before you know it, all will be well again.
