I'm trying a few bags of Somersets and have noticed that they seem to be burning at a faster rate than I remember. I've got the feed rate on 3, low burn on 4, main controls on 1 (heat) and 3 (blower). Hasn't been too cold until last night which allowed for an informal test of two bags. Happy with the heat output which is great and ash seems reasonably low.

Anyone notice the same thing?

Have not burned any new ones from this years batch.. still burning off last years Somersets....I will keep an eye on that..

Yes, they are a small pellet (or at least have been for me) I actually have seen a few more long ones on my current batch. I'll have to look and see if I can figure out when they were manufactured.

Maybe you could open 1 bag of the new ones just to scoop out a handful to compare with last year's. Pics of both sis by side would be nice! ==c

Somersets have always been one of the smaller pellets on the market. Another reason they are my favorite.

This means that they feed more. But also means more heat. They are consistent in everything ;)

Love Somersets. :)
