A lot of people liked the green teams. I didnt get a chance to try them. I'll go back to the Stove Chow. Its supposed to warm up in the next few days. I see you have some summersets. How do they compare to the Turmans?

I like the GT's. A little ashy, but the stove doesn't care. I just won't pay the price for them anymore. Nice pellet, but not worth the $$ Lowe's wants forr them notw.

About the same as you. I'm about 10 miles from the coast. We had a lot of wind, but little to no rain. I lost power on Tuesday 1:30pm and it came back on Thursday afternoon. I'm very thankful that was the worst (no damage etc.)

I was going to stay with the GS's until it got colder. Came home to a cooler than usual house(68ºF), So I scooped em out and tossed in some presto's. Flame is much bigger and the heat is just pouring from the beast! Maybe its just me, But I feel much warmer now. Both pellets are 209/ton just so ya know!

Cubex and Hamers can stay on deck for now! I'll pick up some more presto's and save the last 6 bags of gs's till springtime!

Now you know why I am so down on the NEWP/GS/CleanFire pellets....they s**k. I had to do the same thing...took the CleanFires out, put a bag of Chow in, and a BIG difference in heat output. House was 67 with the CF, and 69 w/ the Chow.

I tried a bag of GS today....they fed the slowest of any of the pellets I have tried this year. They could not keep the temp up so I switched from running on low to thermostat hi/lo...problem solved.

My Presto's are not far behind the Sets in heat. Ash is another story (lots), but I only care about the Heat!!!

I have them in the Quad now... Love the Dark color :) Some hate'em.. I love'em

Had been burning some Indeck pellets and switched to Somersets last night. The stove was able to idle through the night and maintain house temp whereas the Indecks would've cycled into high a few times. A little warm up here so the Indecks are going back in tonight or tomorrow, though.

I like having the worst pellets on hand - when I switch to something better it's like - whoah.

From ACP to either DryCreek or Inferno's. I didn't think the inferno's I I picked up from lowes @209/ton would be as good as they are. Absolutely no complaints and at $209 I am buying the cheapest I can find yet they are proving well worth it.

Who hates 'em??

There are quite a few Presto haters :)

They are out there. About mid season they will show there face (screen name) ;)

I traded some pellets for a Chainsaw this Fall. I got 2 ton of pellets on the trade. About 90 bags of Rocky Mountains and almost 10 bags of Wood Fiber Inc.

Put a bag of Wood Fibers in day before yesterday, and looked in the pot last night... Pulled out a Giant clinker!(half the size of the floor plate on a Quad/or about a 2.5" half moon and 1/4" thick)!!! I thought the heat was sub-par, pellets were loooong, and now add a Big ol clinker after 1 day!! Yep.. Not a Fan at all. Glad there are only a few left. The Fahrenheit will eat the rest. :)

My stove is on auto/off during the day(I get good solar gain) and hi/lo at night. Heat setting 3. Stove is on stat. My theory is why over work the stove, Pellets that put more volume in usually throw more heat. So the room gets hotter faster and the stove goes back to low or off faster(satifies the stat quicker). Stove doesn't work as hard and I don't see that much difference in how much it eats with the hotter pellets. I would need to increase the feed rate up from 3(approx 4 lbs/hr) to feed rate 4(5.5 lbs/hr.) to get about the same heat from the GS as the Presto's, I do notice it eats lots more fuel at feed rate 4. Plus the stove is working harder. I also get a better fire on low with the presto's. The GS's almost seem like they are gonna go out on low. GS's aren't thrilling me much either, IMHO there are better bb pellet brands out there for the same dime! I'll pass on the GS's and leave them for those that seem to have better luck with em. No offence was meant by this post. Just my 2 lousy cents worth! :p

Who hates 'em??

I don't hate them, But I certainly didn't like the first round I tried. It was a couple a seasons back when Lignetics was struggling with fiber resources. They were more like the blue label ligs that choked many stoves. I think they have it all worked out now. No more conifer on the green label bags(I doubt is was the species-Conifer is in many a good softwood pellets-But where they obtained the fiber is more likely the issue and what nicked em)!

So far the 10 I bought from the bb are burning good.......Good enough to go get some more. Not the cleanest I have burned, But they do throw some nice heat! Supposed to warm up this weekend. I'll toss the GS's back in or maybe mix some of the Presto's in with them. What ever it takes to keep my Cubex and Hamers on deck until it get really really cold.

If you haven't tried them lately? I would give them another whirl. Not to shabby IMHO. ;)

I've been spoiled the last few days burning the big bad Barefoots. A good solid 255 - 260 degrees F out of the exchanger on level three. Only observation so far is a few loooonnngg pellets 2-3". No auger jams yet!!!

No offense taken...just trying to point out that under the right circumstance they may be OK. Not really my choice for a pellet either.

I hear ya, I have see some posts where members are getting good results from them. They do burn with decent ash content and no other issues. My stove eats em just fine. Because I'm a basement dweller, I tend to be a bit picky when it comes to heat. For what I paid for them, Its not an issue. Heck, I'll even try em again just so see if its just this batch. I have paid more for something that was much worse!

As soon as i switched over the Stove Chow i dont have half the ash i did with the Green Team. I just switched the stove over from stove temp to room temp modes at the same time so i cannot comment on heat. Either had no problems keeping the house warm but the ask in the Green Teams was horrible. I got them at lowes and they must have gotten damp at some point in time of another because i have had nowhere near the success that most have had with them.
