Savage till I see it for my own eyes I have to stick with it. My buddy thought he could split more wood with his 34 ton splitter. We used the same mixed woods. Oak , pine, maple and by the time he finished 1 I was already on my 4th

Yes, and there was a time I could outsplit a hydraulic splitter and many brag they can. However, this is usually just on a small amount of wood and usually easy splitting stuff. Over the long haul it is usually a different story unless it is all easy splitting. One thing to always keep in mind though and that is trying for speed when doing something like this is very careless and causes way too much injury. I do not mean to put down that splitter in the least as I am certain in the right conditions that it is great.

It really doesn't matter about the speed but it does save time. I always make sure my safety and the safety of others always comes first. How's the weather by you? It looks like we are getting ready for this new storm that's brewing

Not much brewing here. They say we are in for another warm-up and I think it started today. 63 forecast for Sunday!

I really like the look of the DR but like others have said can it do the big stuff? Not to mention getting it up there would be a problem too

Nice work NYLife. That will be some good BTUs for you when it is good and dry. I like those splitters. Watched one in action one day. Don't like the price though. I just can't justify that kind of cash on a splitter. I can rent one for $60 for the day once or twice a year. That makes it tough to spend $1500 or $2000 or more on a nice splitter.

This weather is crazy. It's warming up quite a bit here after this snow storm last night that left me with about 10" last night.

And now they say 64 Sunday and snow by Monday night & Tuesday. Crazy....

Yep, I took a bet like that once and won, out split the hydraulic splitter. But that was when I was young. Can't do it anymore without hydraulics.
