Hello

What are the most likely parts to wear down or break on a pellet stove?

Show and tell what spare parts you have ready!
There is an attempt here to put the most likely parts that will fail first in the list below.
Please let us know if anything is missing.

1. Ignitor - Full housing or just cartridge?
2. Snap Disc - Low Limit, High Limit or Fan? Ceramic or regular? 3/4" Airstream Mount or Surface mount. Mini Snap Disc?
3. Auger Motor? 1 RPM, 2 RPM or 4 RPM?
4. Combustion or Exhaust blower? Original or Upgraded?
5. Convection or Room Blower with squirrel cage? Original or Upgraded?
6. Control Panel - Knob or Digital? Same as original or Upgraded?
7. Quadrafire Capacitor for Feed motor?
8. Gaskets - Door, Window, Hopper, Blowers... etc

Hello,

I did not see a Vacuum Switch listed or fuses?

I have >3 (total cost for all 3 -$75 total)aftermarket Fasco combustion motors -USA built + >1 (total cost $40)aftermarket Fasco convection motor -Mexico built

>6 Comb gaskets( 3 direct fit +3 univ )

>1 Low temp S. disc (all temp brand 110*F)

>Door gasket +adhesive

>Fuses >Some bypass jumpers

For future purchases i would like to stock >1 - (2RPM CW )auger motor + 1- Versa grate motor( Non OEM aftermarket preferred )+ Vacuum sw assm.

Knock on wood everthing works as it should (all still original except 1 Comb motor + 1 Conv motor replaced)

Hey, Don2222 do you know any aftermarket replacement for a Versa grate motor? (OEM or non OEM) Presently it has a Merkle Korff (4506u1-012 .25amps) maybe you might know of a cross reference , it seems to be the only motor that i can`t find except private label (darn OEM ) aftermarket eludes me for some reason on this one. Maybe you might know? It`s not broke yet but a least i`ll have a # for future reference.
Thanks

I only have a sheet of gasket material.

a fuse for the control board.

an old combustion motor that I might be able to make work again.

<----sadly not prepared

oh I forgot. I have about 10' of vacuum hose.

I always keep enough beer on hand to wait out the UPS truck with parts from Dale. ;)

Do I dare post here? Just ordered 3k of Enviro Parts, 3k of Englander parts, 6k of venting, have about 4k in Harman parts as well as an assorted amount of misc inventory equally about 25k...I'm covered as well as about 100 other people...for the next 3 weeks.

Parts, why you guys got parts?

Your dealer will just come and fix your busted stove in a blizzard, what's that you say, the last time it took a month just to get the part.

I have two spare igniters, spare gasket material, a combustion blower, a convection blower, and fuses.

This season I plan on adding an auger motor and controller.

Carry on.

One auger motor (I read here that this would be the most likely part to fail so I ordered the better one right away.)
Complete gasket set so I can copy them.

I need a few more items just to be prepared, ignitor, vacuum hose, fuses, convection blower, exhaust blower and whatever else I think of.

Thank you, Don2222, for replying back
I`ve seen that before.

Just don`t see the $$$ value on that ,i`ll just keep fishing for one .

I did contact Merkle Korff (Email) but to no avail. Just circling the wagons for the OEM i guess, but what else is new.

The same reason i do not like to go to the local auto stealer for parts( i mean dealer) they rob you on the price.
Better quality at aftermarket i feel also.

Armed with a six pack and a positive attitude anything can be accomplished

No Quad parts, I knew they never break down.

Here's my spare part when my stoves breakdown until I can order replacements.

7. Quadrafire Capacitor for Feed motor do fail sometimes and then the auger keeps reversing!

My spare part is a 120,00 BTU natural gas furnace (carrier). I already know I'm a smartass.

Not if the stove is new enough to have the capacitor?

I have 2 ignitors, a T/C, Door gasket, Ash pan gasket, and a Combustion blower for the Classic Bay.

Door gasket, ash pan gasket, combustion blower, and exhaust manifold for the Fahrenheit.

Ash pan gasket, Door gasket, Glass gasket, burn-pot (slightly bent and replaced when new), and convection blower (Siezed up/ oiled and tested after new one came and it worked. But for how long) for 10-CPM

Door gasket and glass gasket for 30-NC

I wont burn LP...... If something goes down, I am gonna fix it ASAP.

i have the 25pdvc and only have a sheet of lytherm for gasket making, though i did go through it and checked, cleaned and serviced everything.
