Doing my first break-in fire. My draft is awesome. Got the newspaper lit and close the door, away she went. Tells me the stove should run good in the low burn mode. Glad I made the hearth big, gives me lots of loading room. I have enough rear room to look at a cat probe easily if I decided to install one.

Very nice! You've done a great job with the hearth.

I really like the blue...had a hard time, back when I bought my Fireview, choosing between the blue and light grey. If only I could have bought both.

I know you're going to love the stove. Wishing you many warm family evenings enjoying this stove's soft heat.

That is one killer looking install;)

It's actually charcoal, flash probably makes it look like the blue gray they have. Going to do my second burn later tonight. Woodstock said once he stove cooled to 100 I was OK for a second hotter burn. I was use to my steel Quad 5700,,,, after the fire died out I couldn't believe how long the top maintain 180 degrees. I can see I'm going to love this stove. Thanks for the compliments. First time doing the hearth build. Glad I didn't buy one, I got to make it wider which I'm glad I did now. I have a nice wood area on the door side.

I just tried to keep it old school simple, farm house is 1840's so I figure nothing fancy for me. Just something that works with the surroundings. I do like how much room I have around the stove. Thanks again for all the complements. It's certainly doesn't hold a nail to Scotty Overkill's beautiful hearth he's building,, he's the real craftsman, LOL;)

Congrats very Nice setup.

Nice install! Man those Fireviews are so elegant, they spice up any room like a fine piece of furniture or decoration.

Charly,
You really outdid yourself on this install. Everything looks to fit together perfectly. Very nice. There are so many ways to plan and build a hearth. You built a beauty! Let us know how the Fireview works out for you in the coming winter months.
Take care,
Tim

Actually I didn't plan as good as I should have . I had to space the bricks out further to get the hearth width I already planned. Next time I will figure my brick layout first, then you know how wide you can build to have the bricks space out properly. I made it work. Actually I just wanted to make the pad the same width as the existing back wall,, that was already here when we bought the place. Thanks for the compliments.

Wow,,,,,,,, thanks for all the nice feed back! I will let you know how the stove works out. Did a 200 degree small fire this morning, and now just did a second fire which I brought up to 250 degrees. Tomorrow I think I should be good to go. I'll still go easy on her but engage the cat.. I have such a good draft that when I lit a wooden stick match and got it near the open door, it sucked the flame out before I could touch the paper. And I'm not even straight up! One good thing is it should burn good on a low setting and no back puffing. I guess I'll find out. I'm laughing, this made me feel like a kid at Christmas , getting a present you've been waiting for all year ;lol. I can tell you already, this stove starts a lot better then the Quad 5700 did, hands down. Both burns I just lit my newspaper with kindling and some small wood and closed the door. No need to even leave the door open. I'm impressed. Woodstock gave this stove a nice air path for sure. Just have to figure out a reload according to the air inlets. Rake the coals towards the door, new wood towards the back or front?

I love how the stove window echos the shape of the back wall. It all comes together so nicely.

Didn't take Benny long to move from the Esse to the Fireview. He's sucking up heat from the break-in fire.

The cat is engaged for the first time... Stove top reached barely 200 and the cat took right off. Draft is at 3/4 and she's doing great. Hard to believe the stove can burn in such a low mode. Stove is approaching 350 and my flue gas temp is a steady 400. Looks like I have a great draft to run the stove low. Better then a poor draft for sure. Went outside to check the chimney top,,, no smoke at all,,,, doesn't even look like the stove is running. I'm loving it!;)

A happy cat.. Stove top barely reached 200 and I engaged the cat,,, it took right off. Air is set a 3/4. has anyone ran their Fireview lower then that. Stove top is climbing towards 375,,, flue gas has climbed from 400 to 450. Wondering if I can close the air setting even more? No smoke outside, pipe doesn't even look like anything is burning. Amazing. Well I know my wood is nice and dry.
