Was just taking s troll on CL as many people do, clicked on a link for firewood because of its title.
"Firewood. Revolutionary way of buying"

I don't need any wood, but I wanted to know what was so revolutionary about selling firewood, so I took a peak. Has some pics of the wood, all of it stacked "log cabin" style. What's so revolutionary about ripping people off?

The wording was such that it enticed you to click on it!~ :p

Is there a discount for buying it the regular non-revolutionary way?

Those are some leany stacks too............ I've wanted to make a 128 ft^2 trailer, and say ok let me fill this for your price.

Yeah, he's slightly undercutting the competition in price to be more attractive, but clearly making up for it by "fluffing" his stacks....

I want to see the SUV with 1/2 cord stuffed in it.

I may be missing something, but I like this guy. Seems like a good deal, he knows what a cord is, he'll help you load it, and you can pick through for the firewood you want.

I put about half a cord in my s 10 blazer once but that was with the seat down in front and the rear seats removed ! That will never happen again no matter how desperate we are. The weight almost broke the rear leaf springs !!!

Pete

seems like an honest deal but the price is higher than around here, usually $50 for a 1/2 if you pickup green and $60 for seasoned.

I'm with you. But I have a sneaking suspision he is taking measurements of a cord when its stacked log cabin style, and his help loading will be hand-tossed only.

Yeah, I got ya. If he's measuring in the current stacked state, you'd be shorted.

Perhaps that's how he fits "1/2 a cord" into "most SUVs."

I thought you were being sarcastic in your first post about the guy being so helpful! haha. This is a common technique for sellers to short buyers.

This thread made me remember my college years. I can tell you definitively that 55 cases of beer will fit in a Volkswagen GTI.. and not a single case more!!

That is, with a 6'1" driver, and no passenger. I won't tell the rest of the story.. I don't think the statute of limitations has passed.
