Felt shaking bit ago and got on my Facebook and found out a earthquake had happened.

Had ours last year and it was really scarey. Sounded like the joint was gonna come apart.

Don't remember feeling that one but near me other people did.

They had one in Canada a week or two ago that was felt 14 miles north of here, I think it was near Montreal.

I guess reason quakes are felt so far is the crust in the east us is soft compared to the west.

I Live real close to the KY/VA state line so it ant really all that far away.

Hurricane, Nor-easter & now a quake.
That's 3, should be safe for a while now ;)

We had a quake in NH that was felt down here a month or so ago....

I think mother nature is mad or something.

My wife sez the earth moves 3 or 4 times a night ...............

Reactions: Dune
I hate to scare you guys down there, but it isn't because the ground is soft (although locally that can make a difference). The reactions travel so far because the faults are very, very deep. If you really want to get a bit paranoid, google "New Madrid Fault". It's only a matter of time...

New madrid fault..... Yikes, worst natural disaster in US history, and at least 4000 will die in memphis alone. Just a matter if time they say.....

We're about 100 miles from Whitesburg and didn't feel a thing. I've been through several of them when living on the left coast, so I know what they feel like.

The New Madrid fault scares the dickens out of me. If I lived in Memphis, it would terrify me I would move as far away as possible. ;lol

Sorry just getting back to thread.
