Feeling the Heat

well just 2 days ago i bought my first pallet of pellets, the big box home depot specials, they aren't the best but they work AND were only $ 180 (military discount) . So i have heat aside from the #$÷@! oil heat for the next month or two.

As many here say..."pics or it did'nt happen"
What did you get?

I like the Stove Chow too, they are a decent pellet

I haven't seen the Chow around here lately. Decent for hte money.

What did the OP get??
You know, I didn't see any chow around here either. Although I didn't look as hard this year as I did last year because I got my supply for this winter before the ground thawed from last winter...

Is there any issue with using last years pellets? I store them in my garage and the bags are all sealed but since having this issue with my auger I have been worried that using 'old' pellets would be bad....I assume the term old applies to bags that have been opened and potentially absorbing moisture from the air, thereby, making the pellets 'softer' and more likely to crumble... I dont have that issue with the bags left over from last year, although they did come from TSC and they are kinda dusty...

I have stashed pellets for 3 years plus in my damp basement without issues. As long as they didn't get direct contact with water there shouldn't be an issue. They usually show signs of clumping/bloating when water has effected them.

When I store unopened pellets(scooping out of the hopper) I store them in covered 5 gallon pails. No issues even when I forgot to snap the cover on tightly.

I still have some SC left. None around here this year though. I really like the stuff for the shoulder seasons.

I have yet to see them in person.... it's like a mythical bag of pellets that everyone but me has seen!

Yup there they are.. :p Took me 2 trips in the Gf's Pilot.

I have 3 tons being delivered tomorrrow and knowing HD they will not get them in the garage for me so I will be moving 150 bags from the driveway to the garage and of course it is going to be below 30 tomorrow..lol.. fun fun fun...

I can already see that I will be needing more.

at a bag a day, you'll use about 2.5 tons a season... 3 if its colder... 4 if you like it hot/have lame insulation. Average house used in this example.

I would assume by your screen name and the avatar you are a afficionado (or some part there of) of fine cigars??
If so...Think of the North American Pellet as the Garcia Vega of the cigar world. Yeah it will get the job done but...
On your next purchase, find yourself an Alec Bradley, or a Hoyo de Monterrey.

yea the home depots i have been to up here just have the n american stuff.

You def need more ...... But that will keep the "Man" at Bay for awhile :)

Pellets are FAR cheaper than oil. And your pellet stacking skills will improve 10 times over by next year (just trust me) ;em

Still another stack that isnt in a pic...... Keep buying them when there cheap. Better than money in the bank.

LOL I don't know what's stacked more neatly....your pellets or your firewood. You're a sick, sick man.
