I have used these for quite a while and I have to say they work excellent! A recent Noreaster' did a number on my tarp around my shelter and I was able to re-secure them using Super Snaps. They hold so well that the ones I already had in service gripped so well that the tarps ripped with the Super Snaps still securely in place! American ingenuity at work here. I have ordered new tarps to replace the damaged ones but for now I can secure them again. One caveat is when the silver tarps are new it is very difficult if not impossible to use these gizmo's!

I'll have to get some of these Ray. I've been looking for something just like this to tie down some plastic sheeting over an old "63" Boston Whaler I'm restoring/"pimping out". I had ropes wrapped around it but the very little tail end winds of Sandy the reached NE Ohio already worked the sheeting loose. Harbor Freight is one of my favorite stores.

I was thinking of trying out the tarp clips, they're on the bottom right on your link, that way I dont have to use the grommet and can place them anywhere, ever try those Ray?

Nope never tried those WG but they are worth a try for that price. What I like about the Super Snaps is they do not puncture the tarp so there no weak area created VS adding a grommet. I wouldn't mind trying the grommets though..

Oh I see, I didnt realize they worked like that, I thought they hooked onto the grommet, Ill have to order both and see which ones work best.

nice, just what Im looking for, thanks Ray
YW WG! HF seems to have the best price on them but you buy 15 in one pack. I believe they are still made in the USA too.. When my super heavy silver tarps were new I couldn't get them on but they are very heavy..

Never seen them before. Interesting. Note they cost almost double when they are a "marine supply".

HF seems about 1/2 price however they sell a 15 pack for $14.99.. You can see by the pic how well it held up as the tarp ripped. I reinstalled the snap and got the tarp resecured..
Just be warned the heavy (11 mils I think) silver tarps are damn near impossible to add SS to them. Once the tarps have been in service a couple years they are more pliable then you can add the SS.
