my new bk princess is doing great except for for a problem with thermostat adjustment. Sometime the adjustment knob will not stay where it has been set. If I open and close the door or the bypass the thermostat will drift to a new setting. It does not have enough friction to keep it in one place. My solution is to bend a plastic tooth pick in the middle and slide it between the knob and the housing. That provides enough friction to keep it where it has been set. has anyone else had this problem and is there a better way of fixing it. The dealer has not returned my call.

Have you called Blaze King tech support? (509) 522-2730

Happy to replace your thermostat at no charge, covered under warranty. Not certain why that would be happening but you can just PM or email to [email protected] me all the shipping information and we'll get the part out to you. Please also include dealerr info so that we can let them know we have this issue in hand. Also include the serial number of the stove and which model of Princess you have.

It looks like on my king that there is a set screw at the bottom of the knob.
Don't know if the Princess has one.

Thats not what adjusts tension on the knob to hold it in place. You would have to remove the thermostat and do some work to get it repaired.. I did it on the used stove I recently bought for my parents (no warranty for me!).. Its fairly easy, but seeing as the BKVP is offering to remedy the situation I would do that.. BTW, while your reading this(BKVP) thank you again for the repairs on my stove, I really appreciate your extra effort to help me. It is working nicely.. Now, if we could get enough cold to run it for a week or two!

Gotcha, I understood that the knob was tight to the shaft and thermostat but it just did not have enough tension to stay at a set location by its self.. Say you leave it on 2, and gravity causes it to open to 3.. Or something similar.. Thats the trouble with the used one I bought for my folks, that and the thermostat was WAY off, as in #2 was in actuality #1.. It was just as easy to fix that once apart as well.. I guess I spent too much time with mine in my hands when I was having troubles. Glad to say as of now I think I am fixed!
